13 steps to create phrase images for social networks

A post idea that generates a lot of likes and is very simple to do, the motivational phrases are correct for those who need to know what are the most commented types of posts on social media. But how do you create phrase images for your social networks?

You don't have to be a design professional to learn how to create motivational phrase images. In fact, just a simple web application called Canva, available for both your browser on your PC and on Android or iOS phones.

How does Canva work?

It even allows you to place your logo if you have an online business. At Canva you will have at your disposal a wide variety of photos and fonts to make your creations. In addition, the app also allows you to upload images you have on your device.

You can use phrases you have found on the web or phrases that you have developed yourself and kept in journal applications, for example. No matter which social network and what type of phrase you want to post, you can create them within minutes using the app.

How to create phrase images for social networks

Before we get started, a warning: The prints taken for this tutorial were made in the browser version of Canva, which can be accessed via the link. For the Android and iPhone version, check out the video we put at the end of the article.

Warnings given, let's go to the tutorial!

1 - Open Canva and choose the template in which you want to create the image. For this tutorial, we will choose Post to Instagram, but feel free to choose any one;

2 - Click Background in the menu on the left of the screen;

3 - Choose one of the background templates that has to do with your brand, or click Solid Color to choose a color with no effect;

Tip : For ease of creation, opt for a dark color. Since the focus is on conveying your sentence, having contrasting tones will help in visualization;

4 - Again in the left menu, choose Photo and select one to illustrate your post;

Tip: Alternatively, you can upload photos from your computer or phone by going to the Uploads menu.

5 - Drag the edges to occupy the screen;

6 - Now, click on the small square icon called Transparency ;

7 - Decrease so that the photo appears to be in the background, not the color you had chosen before;

8 - Go to Text, again in the left menu;

9 - Choose the text template you like best;

10 - If the color of the text does not contrast, that is, it is a different shade from the background, click on the button shown in the print below and exchange for a color that shows this contrast;

Tip : If your background is dark, a white font will provide the necessary contrast. The converse also applies, ie light backgrounds contrast well with dark font most of the time.

11 - If the template has more than one unnecessary text box, select it and click on the trash can icon and choose Delete Element . Follow the numbered order shown in the print below;

12 - Now, double click on the text and put your message!

Tip : Just like dragging the image to fill the edges, you can also expand the text by clicking on the edges of the text box!

13 - Finally, click Download to download your creation and post it to your favorite social media!
