14 differences between iPhone 8 and LG G6

Although not much news, the iPhone 8 is still a great device and worth considering if you are looking for a new smartphone. Of course with so many interesting options on the market this one can be a little difficult to choose the right model for what you need. The LG G6, for example, is a very interesting option too, being a rival to the new iPhone. To know the main differences between the two and know which one is worth, just check out our detailed list below!

1. Templates

Unlike most premium gadgets we see today, the LG G6 doesn't have two different models. Although it sounds bad due to the lack of choice, it turns out to be good news as it has no better option than the other and focuses on delivering excellent results by itself.

The iPhone 8 has its normal version and the iPhone 8 Plus. Its main differences are in screen size, camera size and amount of RAM, as well as price, of course.

2. Design

As expected, the iPhone 8 has changed almost nothing compared to the iPhone 7. The only difference in design is that its back has a glass panel now, but only so that wireless charging can work.

The LG G6 has changed significantly compared to G5 and G4 from previous years. It has a very modern look, has very thin edges, has no button on the front and also has a glass panel on the back.

3. Display

Apple insisted on maintaining the same screen as last year on the iPhone 8, ie it has a 4.7 inch display and 1334 x 750 pixel resolution and only the iPhone 8 Plus has a Full HD screen. Meanwhile, the LG G6 has a 5.7 inch QUAD HD screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels.

4. Specifications

In the overall dimensions of the handsets, there are some differences because the LG G6 is clearly larger than the simple version of the iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 is 138.4 mm high, 67.3 mm wide, 7.3 mm and weighs 148g. . Meanwhile, the LG G6 is 148.8 mm high, 72.3 mm wide, 8.3 mm and weighs 163g.

5. Camera

When it comes to cameras, both devices do very well. The iPhone 8 has a 12 megapixel rear camera and a 7 megapixel front camera, just like its predecessor.

The LG G6 fits better in the rear as it has two 13 megapixel cameras. Unfortunately, it has a simple 5 megapixel front camera, so it's not the best choice if you love selfies. Both devices are capable of recording 4K video (with rear cameras) and Full HD (with front cameras).

6. Operating System

As always, iPhone 8 comes standard with iOS1, the latest version of the operating system. Already the LG G6 has Android Nougat, but should be updated to Android Oreo soon. Both systems are great, so it's up to you to decide which one best fits your needs.

7. Battery

Once again, Apple decided to keep the battery capacity of its new iPhone a secret and only mentioned that it has the same performance as the iPhone 7. To be able to compare a little better, the iPhone 7 had a battery of 1960 mAh and could last throughout the day without problems.

Meanwhile, the LG G6 has a capacity of 3300 mAh, which is very good compared to its main competitors. The difference between the two can be big, but it is to be expected that they will be able to last very well even with the use of everyday apps and heavy games.

8. Colors

For some reason, the iPhone 8 doesn't have as many color options as its predecessor and can only be found on space gray, silver and gold models. The LG G6 can be purchased in white, black, platinum, gold and blue. Of course, Apple can still launch other colors for the new iPhone, just like the iPhone 7 this year.

9. Performance

There is no complaining about the performance aspect of these two devices. The iPhone 8 has a new chip called A11 Bionic, which has six cores and promises to be well 25% faster than its predecessor. As with the iPhone 7, it also has only 2 GB of RAM.

The LG G6 does not have the latest Snapdragon processor, but still delivers great performance with the 821 chip. In addition, it has 4 GB of RAM, so you can perform any task without worrying about slowdowns or crashes.

10. Storage

Unlike its predecessors, iPhone 8 has only two storage options: 64 GB and 256 GB. The LG G6 has some extra options and can be purchased with 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB, but you can use a microSD card up to 256 GB to expand storage.

11. Durability

Although they look a little fragile, the LG G6 and iPhone 8 have good durability in many ways. Both the display and the glass panels are made to withstand surface drops, while the display is also able to withstand scratches without permanent marks. Other than that, they also have dust and water resistance.

12. Security

Most large smartphone companies take the safety of their devices and consumers very seriously today. So it is expected that LG and Apple have honed this in their latest devices. Both the iPhone 8 and LG G6 have fingerprint sensors, passwords, and standards to keep your data safe.

13. Availability

The LG G6 can be purchased here in Brazil since the beginning of the year, while the iPhone 8 is not expected to arrive in our country. The smartphone was launched in the United States on September 22, so there is a possibility of it coming to Brazil by the end of this year.

14. Price

As Apple got rid of the 32 GB model, it is obvious that the "cheaper" device would be slightly more expensive. Fortunately, the difference was not that great and the 64 GB model can be found for $ 699 in the United States, which should end up costing just over $ 4, 000 here.

For a good comparison, the cheaper model of the LG G6 sells for $ 650, but can be found in Brazilian stores at an average of 2 thousand reais.
