The 14 Latest Galaxy A8 +

Late last year, Samsung decided to announce two new mid-line smartphones: the Galaxy A8 - which we also show you in a dedicated article - and the Galaxy A8 +. Not surprisingly, the two are not so different, with the Plus version being slightly larger and more powerful than usual. Still, the new model turned out to be very interesting compared to its competitors and can be a great alternative for those who do not want to spend so much with a new smartphone. 1. Design

In terms of design, the Galaxy A8 + is not much different from other current handsets. Its screen occupies almost the entire front, with some thin edges around it.

Not part of Samsung's premium line, it doesn't have curved edges, but it doesn't miss it anyway. At the rear, it has a glass panel in addition to the camera and fingerprint sensor.

2. Display

Because it was the Plus version, it was expected that it was slightly larger. Its Super AMOLED display has 6 inches and a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels. You can tell that these specifications are a little better than most of its competitors, which have Full HD.

3. Storage

The storage options of the Galaxy A8 + are quite simple as you can only choose between a 32 GB or a 64 GB version. If you think you need more space, you can also use the micro SD card slot to expand storage up to 256 GB.

4. Processor

For some reason Samsung has decided to use the exact same processor on the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8 +, so you will have an Exynos 7885 Octa-Core chip anyway.

The good news is that the Galaxy A8 + has 6 GB of RAM in the 64 GB version of storage. The 32 GB version of storage still has 4 GB of RAM.

5. Battery

Fortunately, Samsung has placed a larger battery in the Galaxy A8 +, which is perfect for meeting the needs of a larger handset that requires more features. The device has a battery capacity of 3, 500 mAh, which should be enough to enjoy your applications and games throughout the day.

6. Operating System

Like all smartphones coming out earlier this year, the Galaxy A8 + will also come with the latest version of Android Nougat installed at the factory. Still, its users can look forward to a possible upgrade to Android Oreo later this year when Google begins releasing this version of its operating system to other manufacturers.

7. Colors

The Galaxy A8 + has exactly the same color options as the Galaxy A8, so you can buy the smartphone in black, blue, gray and gold versions.

8. Resistance

Like most Samsung smartphones, the Galaxy A8 + turns out to be pretty tough in the hands of a more careful user. The display has Gorilla Glass technology, so it has no scratching or scratching issues with ease.

The rear glass panel can also withstand some slight falls, although it is recommended to wear a protective cover when possible. Other than that, the device has resistance to dust and water damage.

9. Security

For safety, the Galaxy A8 + offers the same conditions as other Samsung devices. It has a fingerprint sensor, support for face recognition and can be password locked if the user prefers. Of course, the facial recognition feature is not yet the safest method to use in everyday life, but at least it is an available option.

10. Earphone

Like the normal Galaxy A8, the Galaxy A8 + also has a normal headphone jack, which was expected from an intermediate smartphone. Of course, you can also use wireless headphones if you prefer, as it usually has the Bluetooth feature.

11. Camera

A8 + cameras are not much different from the smaller version of this model, which is not necessarily a bad thing. At the rear is a 16 megapixel camera with HDR capability, LED flash and f / 1.7 aperture.

At the front we have a perfect dual camera for those who like to make selfies. One has 16 megapixels and the other has 8 megapixels. They can be combined differently during a photo to create images with more detail and depth, for example. Other than that, all cameras have support for recording videos in Full HD.

12. Release

Both Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8 + were announced during the month of December 2017, but the handsets only started selling from January this year. For now, only a few Asian countries have the device in stock, as Samsung tends to make regional releases slowly and is expected to reach America in the first quarter of the year.

13. Price

It is currently unknown what the price of the western Galaxy A8 + will be, but it is estimated to be as high as $ 600 in the United States (about $ 2, 000 at current price). Unfortunately, the price in Brazil cannot be predicted because of taxes either, so we will have to wait for its official release here.

14. Availability

As mentioned, the Galaxy A8 + is only available in some countries at the moment, but Samsung already seems to be planning the arrival of the smartphone in Brazil. Apparently, the company is preparing an official presentation of the two versions of the model for early February, with availability in stores shortly thereafter.
