5 steps to create a tourism app or city guide

Tourism and city guide apps, also known as business guides, are on the rise. So today we will present a step by step so that you can create your own app in this branch and offer a service that will interest all tourists on duty.

When you are designing your project, it is very important to identify which application builder best fits your needs and which sites are best for building and selling apps. Today we are going to create this app using GoodBarber as it offers a wide range of features to make a very cool and complete tourism app.

1 - Choose the theme of your Tourism app

This is the first step in designing your app, so choose a theme that fits the style you want to give your app. There are over 50 themes to choose from, so option is not lacking.

2 - Application Navigation

This is a very important step as it is a fundamental aspect of the user experience in your app. So it's worth investing a little more time in testing to see which type of menu and navigation best fits your content.

3 - Design and colors of your app

Even though you have already chosen the theme, you can still adapt the colors and design to your liking. For an app that is unique and memorable, it is important to make the user surprised in the first moments of browsing the app or even before, in the screenshots available in the app stores.

4 - Content and features

After finalizing the design, the application already has its "Face", but still one very important thing is missing - the content. This is what your users are looking for and what will keep them from using your tourism app with a referral throughout their trip or when exploring other corners of the city or living.

You can use various types of sections to add content to your app, maps, articles, photos, calendar… The more varieties you have the more interesting the app will be!

With different types of sections you don't limit your app to being just a map, or a guide, even though this is the soul of the app you can try other things too. In the maps section you can create different points of interest, detail the description, insert images and relevant links.

You can categorize points into different subsections to further enhance your users' experience.

5 - Finishing Ringtones

Before you can launch your app to the world, you need to give some trim to make everything perfect! In the app creation steps menu on the left, points 6 and 7 refer to the launch screen and the app icon. These are the first two things the user will see after downloading your app, so go for it!

Once everything is finished, simply submit your app to the app stores and start counting downloads. You can continue to manage the app and add new points and other content straight from GoodBarber's back office.

Bon voyage!
