7 facts you need to know about the new Nokia 3310
If today the world is dominated by smartphones, before it was the old phones of Nokia and Motorola that were very successful. Affectionately called "brick", the handsets were quite limited, but they were the origin of the mass popularization of handsets and an important step in the evolution of future smart phones. Almost nostalgically, Nokia decided to announce the Nokia 3310 model, a phone very similar to the old but a little more modern. To know more about this retro device, just check our list below!
1. Is it a smartphone?
Looking at this phone, there is no doubt about what it is or how it works. It may seem that it is a smartphone at first glance, but it is simply a normal phone, like those old ones. Its screen is small (not touch) and it does not offer the same features as smart devices.
It fits best for those who like classic Nokia phones or even just want a simple and distracting handset.
The look is very similar to the classic design of Nokia phones and should please its former users, even if only for nostalgia. Currently, four different colors have been announced: black, red, yellow and silver.
Its screen is 2.5 inches, has a 2 megapixel rear camera, headphone jack, radio, MP3 Player and micro SD card slot up to 16 GB.
Although it has more functions and features than an older mobile phone, this does not mean that the Nokia 3310 has compatibility with modern applications on smartphones. Since there is not an operating system (such as Android or WhatsApp) running on the device or sufficient processing power, you do not see any common apps compatible with it.
It will be possible to surf the internet using Opera Mini, which is already better than expected. In terms of games, it is well known for now that a modern version of Snake (the classic game of old phones) will be there to help you pass the time.
As expected, the Nokia 3310's battery is simply a prodigy compared to other smartphones. In continuous use, one charge will be sufficient to last 22 hours straight. Already in sleep mode, the battery lasts no less than 31 a days.
That's all with a 1, 200 mAh battery, which is considered very little, but enough for such a modest phone.
Believe it or not, the Nokia 3310 is simple even in the way your cellular network works, which makes it not compatible with the frequency used in some countries. From what has been announced, it supports the 900MHz and 1800MHz frequencies, which are no longer used in certain locations.
In the United States or Canada, for example, there is no way for the phone to work, but in Brazil there is still compatibility.
You still can't have an accurate forecast of how much the Nokia 3310 will cost in Brazil, but you can get an idea based on prices charged in other countries. In Europe, the phone is selling for 49 euros, which would be around 160 reais.
Of course, the rates and possible adjustments would still apply here as with any type of product sold in Brazil. Even so, it would not be an expensive device.
In Europe, the device is already being sold in several countries, but there is no forecast for its arrival in Brazil. As Nokia phones have always been very successful in the country, it is expected that the device will be launched soon here.
