8 features that no longer exist on iOS 10

Despite bringing a host of new features and unheard of features, iOS 10 has also crushed many common system features. Since there is no warning from Apple about this, it is only natural that most users won't even know until they try to use one of these features and realize that it is no longer there. So we have prepared a very neat list of everything that was taken from iOS in the last update and you can check it out below!

1. Photo Stream

Photo Stream was an online album where you could store your photos and check them through different Apple devices. Despite being a free service, there was a limitation of 1000 photos that could be stored and they could only be there for 30 days.

In the new version of iOS, Photo Stream is gone, and you can only count on iCloud's photo library, which has limited storage but doesn't delete your photos after a while.

Considering iCloud's good performance, you can understand why Apple has given up keeping Photo Stream running on its devices by seeking to centralize everything in a single application that is more robust and capable of delivering the same service.

2. Delete all emails

The iOS Email app is really quite useful, but it eventually lost a feature that was very useful for some people. Now there is no longer the option to delete all emails from the inbox, possibly because some people complained about deleting everything unintentionally. After the upgrade, you can only delete emails individually.

Of course, you can still use other email applications to access this feature, but you will no longer see it available as standard operating system functionality.

3. Proactive Screen

The Proactive screen was showing you different notifications on iOS 9 and was an attempt by Apple to make their devices a little more practical. The problem is that this screen was a little confusing, could not be customized and almost nobody cared much for it.

Fortunately, this change was for the better, as iOS 10 replaced Proactive with a new version that can be fully customized to meet the needs of every user. You can even add widgets, something that should have been possible for a long time on iPhone and iPad.

4. Favorite songs

Apple had already mentioned that it was going to give a new overhaul to the music app on iOS 10, but not everyone expected certain features to disappear from it. One of the most noticeable changes is that you can't now favor songs in the conventional way.

If you only starred songs before, you now have to heart them for iOS to remember whether you liked it or not.

5. Choose songs to play next

Another change to the iOS music app is now you have different options when choosing which songs to play next. Previously, a simple button set this and put the songs in a preferential queue, which was quite practical overall.

With iOS 10, you get two different options, one putting the song to play right away, while the other adds songs to the end of the playlist.

6. History of songs played

Before you could check all the songs in your playlist, even the ones you had heard before. With the iOS update, you can only check out songs that are still playing on your device. It's a small change, but one that can be slightly annoying in some situations.

On the other hand, this can also be seen as a measure to save the space used to cache your music history, as well as an improvement regarding your privacy.

7. Favorite songs on lock screen

Apple preferred to leave the control of simpler music playback on the lock screen, so it is no longer possible to favor a song there. If you want to tag a song with the heart symbol we mentioned, you will need to unlock the device first.

These measurements may have been made to help save your smartphone's battery while it is locked, reducing the number of features and features available from the screen saver.

8. Swipe to unlock

This is the change that is really impossible to miss, as the classic way we unlocked the iPhone and iPad has been totally changed. Before you just had to slide your finger across the screen to unlock the device, but now you have to click the physical button on your device to do that.

Of course a lot of people have already complained about the change, after all, the physical button of the iPhone and iPad is very fragile and known to give problems after much use. With the new need to squeeze it all the time, it's not hard to imagine that happening to a lot of people.
