Android Privacy: Top Features You Need to Know

It's extremely important to worry about the security and privacy of your smartphone, especially with these devices being used for just about everything in our daily lives. Fortunately, most mobile devices already offer excellent options to bring the user peace of mind. Android, for example, offers features that offer good convenience in many ways. For the top privacy features on Android, just check out our tips below!

1. Hide notification content

For starters, there is a very interesting feature for those who often receive several notifications on the smartphone: the ability to hide your content.

This is especially useful for anyone who receives messages or emails that you don't want others to see easily. The option shows that you have notifications for a certain app, but you can only view content after you unlock the device.

To enable the option, go to the Android settings, click "Apps & Notifications" and then "Notifications".

Then click "On the lock screen" and "Hide confidential notification content."

Of course you can undo this option at any time, but it is very good for when you are away from home.

2. Announcements

Another feature that may bother Android users is personalized ads. Basically, if the option is enabled, Google may use some of your data to deliver ads that it thinks fit you best.

To turn off this functionality, go to Settings, click "Google" and select the "Ads" option.

Then simply click the button next to “Turn off ad personalization” if it is blue. If the button is gray, it is already off by default and you do not need to touch anything.

3. Screen lock

Finally, we may recommend adjusting the time it takes for your smartphone to lock when not in use. This feature may be most useful outside the home, as a short time for locking can be annoying at other times.

To adjust this, go to the Android settings and select the "Security" option and click the gear icon next to the "Screen lock" option.

Now select the “Auto lock” option and just choose how long it will take for your Android to be locked.

You can choose between 5 seconds and 50 minutes, so you can select something very personalized.

You can change this setting whenever you need it and without any restrictions.
