How to Add Virtual Home Button on iPhone X

The iPhone X is quite different from previous models of Apple smartphones, but one of the changes that bothered its consumers most was the lack of the Home button. This center button has been on all iPhones since the first model released in 2007, so of course many people end up missing it or even having some weirdness in daily use of this new device. Fortunately, you still have the option of adding a Virtual Home button to your iPhone X's home screen. While it's not the same, it's a good solution for those who wanted the back button. You can check how to activate it below!

IPhone X Virtual Home Button

Before starting, it is worth mentioning that this procedure was already possible on other iPhone models for those who did not want to ruin the Home button when pressed many times a day or for those who had an older smartphone and whose button no longer worked so well.

Fortunately, Apple has kept the feature on the iPhone X, where the button turns out to be more useful than in other situations. To get started, open the Settings app and look for the General option.

Then select the "Accessibility" option to continue.

Among the options on this screen you will need to activate “AssistiveTouch” by clicking the button next to you.

The Home button will be added to your iPhone X screen automatically, but you can customize it if you like. To do this, just go to the “Custom Actions” and choose which command will be represented by each type of ring.

Of course this is only optional, so if you want to use the button simply as a replacement for Home, you don't need to touch anything else.

If you no longer want to use this virtual button, just go back to this same menu and click the green button next to “AssistiveTouch” as this will disable the option.
