How to download and install the Google Play store on Android

As any Android user should know, Google Play is Google's official store for downloading apps and games for your smartphone or tablet. Because Android offers a lot of freedom, you can download apps from anywhere on the internet, but many people prefer the convenience and ease of Google Play.

By default, the store is installed on all Android devices, but sometimes someone may inadvertently delete it or may prefer to go back to a previous version of the store because of a bug or problem caused by an update.

If so, be aware that there are very easy ways to download and install Google Play on your Android device. Just check out our tutorial below to learn how!

Installing Google Play

The first thing we have to understand is that there are many versions of Google Play, exactly because Google tends to update the app so often. If you only want to reinstall the store because you unintentionally deleted it, it is advisable to install the most current version.

If you really only want to go back to an older version, search first to find out exactly which version you're looking for. However, all available versions can be found and downloaded via this link.

With the desired version properly downloaded to your computer, it's time to begin installing the store app on your device. If you have never installed apps outside of Google Play, you will need to make a small adjustment: Go to Settings, select Security, and turn on Unknown Sources.

It's also important to note that installing apps outside the official store may end up infecting your smartphone with malware, viruses or other malicious programs. That's because Google's own store always removes apps like this, which doesn't guarantee that these other app banks will do the same.

So if you're a more lay user on the subject, take extra care and always check for comments from others who have downloaded apps to make sure it is really safe.

Malicious programs can damage your privacy, steal passwords, and even gain access to your private files on your phone. So it's really important to avoid downloading any unknown, low rated, or suspicious applications.

This will make it possible to install applications downloaded from external sites manually. Just take a little care with future app downloads outside of Google Play or other official Android app stores, as they may have viruses.
