One of the most exciting features of Android Nougat is the environment display, which allows you to view your notifications easily and without having to press any buttons. The biggest problem is that it can use up a lot of smartphones without AMOLED screen, and the screen will light up all the time. The good news is that it is very easy to disable this option, as you can see in our tutorial below!

Disabling environment display on Android

If you really want to turn off the environment display feature, you'll always have to turn on your smartphone screen to see your notifications, but at least you'll be able to make sure your battery lasts longer during the day.

To get started, open the settings app for your smartphone.

Among all available options, look for “Screen” and click it to proceed.

You'll see some new options regarding display screen and display brightness level, but you need to look for and click on “Environment Display”.

This will disable the green button next to this option and you will no longer have notifications appearing with the screen off. Of course you can reverse this process by returning to the same menu and pushing the button.

The good news is that with the arrival of Android O later this year, the environment display feature will be very efficient and will not consume so much of your mobile phone's charge. In the meantime, check out 14 tips to solve your Galaxy S8 battery problems.
