How to turn off Windows 10 notifications

Within a few months of its release, Windows 10 is well on its way to becoming one of the world's most popular operating systems - despite annoying update notifications - even though it has some security settings that don't make much sense to users.

If you have already upgraded your system for free to this new version, you may have noticed that several notifications are appearing throughout the day. These are usually warnings about settings, birthday reminders, and even possible updates or adjustments you can make.

The problem is that none of these notifications are really useful in everyday life and can still end up distracting us a lot in our work or study hours, for example. Fortunately, it's fairly simple to get rid of, as you can see in our tutorial on disabling Windows 10 notifications. Check it out!

Disabling Windows 10 Notifications

The first thing to do is open your Windows start menu and click "Settings." In the new options window that opens, just click on “System” to continue.

From the tabs available, click on “Notifications and Actions” (which is second on the list) and you should see a wide range of options enabled by default.

In the "Notifications" portion, you will have general Windows-related options such as alarms, tips, calendar appointments, and reminders. In “Show notifications of these apps”, you will see several options involving programs and applications you have installed on your PC, such as Skype, uTorrent, etc.

Now you just have to take a look at everything and decide what you want to keep and which notifications you prefer to turn off at once, just clicking the button for each option presented. Just keep in mind that some of these notifications are important, especially for applications and programs that you often use in your daily routine.

To reverse the process and reactivate any notification options, you only need to return to the same menu and push the buttons of the options you have previously selected. This should surely improve your experience with Windows 10 even more!
