You may have noticed that most Android smartphones have a Google search bar at the top of the screen. Removing Google Bar on Android

Since many manufacturers modify Android when they put it on their device, there are many different ways to remove the Google bar depending on your device. For Samsung models, for example, the process is extremely simple.

Just click and press on the Google bar for a few seconds, which will let go of it and allow you to drag it to the trash can icon.

Of course you can put this bar back on the screen if you prefer by simply pressing your finger on any free corner of the home screen and choosing the "Widgets" option. Among the list of widgets, you'll find the Google bar.

If your device is from Sony, the process is a little different. To get started, leave your finger pressed over the Google bar for a few seconds, which will make some new options appear.

Among them will be a button in the Google bar itself that will let you "hide" the widget easily. This process can be reversed by tapping a free space on the home screen for a few seconds and allowing the widget to reappear.

If you have a third-party or even Nexus (Google devices) device, you may have noticed that these two procedures do not work the same way. In such situations, the best option is to use an alternative launcher.

This will allow you to leave your home screen the way you prefer and this includes deleting the Google search bar, of course.

Finally, there is a more drastic way to remove the Google bar that we don't recommend for all users: root. Of course with a rooted smartphone you will have complete freedom than with your device, but it is better not to do the procedure just minor modifications on the home screen.

Either way, you can check our list of reasons to root or avoid it on your device, which can help you make a better decision.
