Galaxy A5 Top 8

The Galaxy A5 launched last year was one of Samsung's most popular intermediate smartphones, so much so that the company decided to make a new version in 2017. The best thing is that the handset has received several updates and improvements, making it even more interesting for those looking for a new, powerful and not so expensive phone. If you are curious and want to know more about the new model of Galaxy A5, just check our detailed list below!

1. Design

In terms of design, there are not many surprises involving the new Galaxy A5. While last year's model was entirely based on the Galaxy S6, this latest version is based on the look of the Galaxy S7.

Its construction is made of plastic on the back, but the handset still has metal edges that can also be found on Samsung Galaxy Alpha models.

The good thing is that the device has definitely received improvements to make it look more premium, which may justify the transition from those who already have their predecessor. Even so, it is still a really discreet model and for many users this is already an advantage.

2. Display

Nor are there so many innovations in relation to the display of the new A5, even more so compared to the model and 2016. Both have a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED screen and Full HD resolution.

Not that this is a bad thing, after all, it is already much better than many other mid-range devices today. This screen size and the resolution offered are capable of satisfying users who enjoy playing or watching videos and series on their smartphone.

3. Operating System

Perhaps the biggest disappointment of the Galaxy A5 is the accompanying operating system. In the middle of 2017, it is expected that the least such a smartphone has is Android Nougat, the latest version of Google's system.

The problem is that the device will come with Android Marshmallow (released in 2015) and it is not sure that it could be upgraded to Nougat.

That's because system upgrades usually depend on a number of factors, so if you intend to buy it by waiting for Android Nougat, it's best to be aware that it might not work out.

4. Performance

At least the A5's components are far from bad. The handset features Samsung's own octa-core processor, the Exynos 7880, plus 3 GB of RAM.

Although not the best in the mobile market, these settings ensure that there will be no locking or slow use of lightweight and slightly more demanding apps.

Still, it is not so recommended to use very heavy games or more robust applications on the smartphone.

On the plus side, the device's memory is 64 GB and it supports Micro SD cards for expansion up to 256 GB. Something to expect from a smartphone in this category.

5. Camera

The camera is always viewed as one of the most important aspects of a smartphone these days, and fortunately Samsung has not missed the opportunity to improve the technology implemented in this year's Galaxy S5.

The device has a rear camera of 16 megapixels and a front also 16 megapixels. The result is quite impressive, but there is the downside to them not having the optimum stabilization feature like last year's model.

6. Battery

The battery of the Galaxy A5 also does not disappoint considering that it has no less than 3, 000 mAh capacity, the same as the Galaxy S8.

Since its screen is smaller and with simpler features, the battery is expected to last even longer than the S8 itself.

7. News

Another interesting new feature of the Galaxy A5 compared to last year's model is the IP68 certification, which guarantees protection against water damage.

In addition, the device now has a USB-C socket, like most modern smartphones, ideal for connecting it to your computer or notebook for high-speed file transfer, for example.

8. Release

The new A5 was launched in several countries earlier this year, and it took a little longer to get to Braisl. But considering the popularity of Samsung smartphones nationwide, it was expected that it would come out in our market shortly.

The price suggested by Samsung itself during the announcement was $ 1, 499.00. Even today it is still possible to find the device in the same value range, ranging on average between $ 1, 350.00 to $ 1, 450.00. Which puts it in competition in the intermediate category of smartphones.
