Recording videos in Stop Motion

As we mentioned above, you will need an app called “Stop Motion Studio” which can be downloaded for free via the link. It is very light and should work with most Android smartphones, even older ones.

With the app installed, open it on your device and you'll see your main screen. Click New Movie to proceed.

This will take you to the screen to start capturing the frames of your Stop Motion video. To get started, just click the camera symbol at the top right of the screen.

This will open the in-app camera in landscape mode so you can shoot the individual frames of your video. In this case, it is better to make subtle movements between one frame and another to give the real effect of Stop Motion. This can be done with objects, drawings, dolls or even people.

When you're done, you can check all captured frames by tapping the play icon to see how the result is.

To make stop-motion video edits, return to the app's main screen. Then choose the video you just recorded and tap the middle button in the bottom bar.

From this screen you will be able to see each frame taken from the video and make changes. To add a sound recording to the video, click the microphone icon in the menu on the left of the screen.

By tapping the “+” button you can add other images from your crowd, add a title and credits to the movie, and insert audio or video clips.

To make more advanced edits, click the gear icon.

From this screen you can change the video playback speed, insert transitions, choose the video format - vertical, portrait or landscape in different settings - set background, add filters and set quality among others.

Depending on the size of the video, it may take a few seconds for the video to finish, but the process should still be very fast. Pretty simple, isn't it? This way you can record your videos in Stop Motion anytime!
